Value Champions Self Nomination Process

 


Mandate of the Values Champions:
   
  The mandate of the Values Champion is to ensure that the values of the organization are institutionalized (become the DNA) within each location.
   
Role of the Values Champion:
   
 
1. Understand deeply DCBL Values
2. Train all the executives (existing and new) of the location on:
  1. Meaning of our values

  2. Make them aware of the role and mechanism through which they could raise value related issues to with the Value Champions & the Value Ombudsperson (Ombudsperson is the person who is authorised to drive the values institutionalization across locations)

3. Aid in Values evaluation programs
   
   
Relationship with the Ombudsperson:
   
 
1. The Values Champions are expected to help the ombudsperson establish various value programs in the organization
2. The Values Champions help the ombudsperson by being the local value representative and help with employee interfacing
3. The Values Champions are to give feedback to the ombudsperson with respect to what they have observed in the workplace as far as values initiatives are concerned
4. Help the ombudsperson in renewing and refreshing the values modules and other programs
   
Relationship with the HR team:
   
 
1. The Values Champions are expected to interact closely with the corporate HR representative who is involved with the values program
2. The Values Champions are expected to work with the local HR representative to ensure timely scheduling of Values workshops, feedback- gathering, roll outs of programs etc.
   

Who should be a Value Champion:

   
  Since the Values Champion is an ambassador for the Values program within the organization, they will be selected on the basis of following criteria:
   
 
1. Should be passionate about the power of values and believe in the process of values institutionalization
2. Should be articulate and have good communication skills
3. Should have the ability to influence people and be objective
4. Should be discreet and have demonstrated capability to handle confidential information
5. Should epitomize the values
   

Selection Process:

   
 
1. Each location will have at least 3 Value Champions. Ideally there will be 1 Value Champion for 25 Executives
2. Interested candidates can nominate themselves by filling the attached Self Nomination form
3. The Selection Committee will go through the nominations and shortlist candidates (2 times the number required) who will be called for interview.
4. The Selection Committee will comprise of:
  1.  HO - Sr. ED- MD’s office, ED-HR and the Value Ombudsperson
  2.  Chennai – CEO, ED – Marketing and the Value Ombudsperson
  3.  Units - Business Head, Plant Head and the Value Ombudsperson
5. The short-listed candidates will be interviewed
6. The names of Successful candidates will be announced on the portal.
